Micky Wrobleski | Tuba Teacher

Micky Wrobleski is a chamber musician, educator, composer, and recording artists.


In 1997, Micky Wrobleski was appointed Principal Tuba of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the training orchestra of the World-Renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra. While in Chicago, in addition to his duties with the Civic Orchestra, Micky was appeared numerous times as an extra and musician substitute with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Micky was appointed Principal Tuba of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra in 2003. During his time in Beijing, Micky has appeared as soloist with the Beijing Symphony, the Taipei Wind Symphony, and appeared live on television with the Central Conservatory of Music Wind Orchestra.


Since 2010, Micky has been Professor of Tuba at the China Conservatory of Music, Besides he has performed in numerous concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Minnesota Opera, the Macao Orchestra, the Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony, the China National Symphony, the National Center for the Performing Arts Orchestra, and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.   Micky can also be heard on countless television shows, radio broadcasts, and movie recordings.  As a composer and arranger, Micky’s works have been performed and recorded by artists from Asia, Europe and the United States.


Micky is the founder and chairman of the International Tuba Euphonium Association. Micky was featured on the cover of the Fall 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Association’s quarterly Journal and interviewed for their special segment “From the Back Row,” an article devoted to insights, history, and advice from professional tuba and euphonium players from around the world.



Micky is also a highly sought after educator. He has given master classes throughout Asia and is currently Professor of Tuba at the China Conservatory of Music. His students occupy principal tuba positions and teaching positions around the country.
